Conflict Management & Alternative Dispute Resolution for Families
Conflict is inherent to being human. Yet destructive conflict destroys opportunities. How often do we see our clients (and ourselves) limit possibilities as a result of destructive conflict? It happens far too often, especially in families, and it doesn’t have to be this way.
In this interactive and informative program, participants will deepen their understanding of how conflict occurs, how it limits opportunities, and how to engage in constructive conflict whether through building skills themselves or introducing professionals who can assist.
Key issues covered include:
•Learning our conflict management tendencies
•The foundation of constructive conflict management
•What contributes to destructive conflict
•When to bring in professionals
This session anticipates our program with the Illinois Institute for Continuing Education. Come learn and help co-create as we outline the steps and practice with expert facilitation.
Moderator: Daniel P. Felix
Presenters: Cathy Carroll and David Smithson
